No Blood for Oil!

I happened to be listening to the President on the radio tonight as I drove past a gas station with $3.55/gal gasoline advertised, and it made me wonder where these guys have been:

Have they just not had enough time to organize a protest?  Surely it can't be because their guy is in charge. . .

  4. They are too busy driving down to Perryville, MO to get cheaper gas for their SUV's.

  6. Maybe "blood for oil" seems like a good trade now that we've had a longer taste of recession and gas prices are going up again. Or maybe I'm being cynical.

  8. I thought about this for a while, and I guess the funny answer is "maybe they're in the hole the Tea Baggers just crawled out of a couple years ago.

In the no blood for oil people's defense there are certain elements to the alibyan intervention that make it more like Rwanda or Darfur (where the no blood for oil crowd wanted intervention) than the runup and disposition to the war in Iraq. Most groups do survive on a narrative, and the news reports coming back and words spoken by the administration aren't feeding this group's narrative.

On a more personal note I would like to say I attended a protest in 2001 against the Bush tax cuts which started us on the deficit spending cycle we are currently on. I didn't see anyone I know nationally that has since affiliated themselves with the tea party saying the same things, except for John McCain. All the people at the protest I attended looked more like the no blood for oil people than the Tea Baggers I see on tv now. Where did they all come from and what was their SUDDEN motivation to protest a policy that had been in place for over 7 years by a President the majority of them voted for TWICE!?!?!
